George Leavesley

George Leavesley is an volunteer research hydrologist with the USGS National Research Program, Central Region, Denver, Colorado, since 2007. George established the Precipitation-Runoff Modeling research group in 1891.  The research group has the broad goal of understanding precipitation-runoff processes and developing improved hydrologic models.

Research Topics:

  • Lake model integration
  • Identification of flow paths and residence time using isotopes
  • Integration of  vegetation and land use  dynamics in surface water modeling
