Re: radium in Phreeqc database

Greg Anderson has been working on a translation of the Lawrence Livermore
thermo data that is used in EQ3/6 and Geochemists Workbench. It has a
limited set of radium species and minerals. It may serve as a start, but I
don't think it is complete.

It probably doesn't help you particularly, but this database should be much
better for higher temperature. It requires a new version of PHREEQC, which
will be version 2.3 and hopefully be out this month. Here is a preliminary
version of the program and the database.

Hello -

I assume this is David Parkhurst's address.

I took the IGWMC class in geochem modeling in Golden back in 1995 (when
Phreeqc was just about to be introduced), and have done a fair bit of
modeling on mining projects since then. I am now working on a project at an
ISL uranium mine, and need to find a database for Phreeqc that includes
radium species. I have heard that such a database has been developed, and
am wondering if you know how I might obtain it.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience.

Thanks,
Tom Doyle
