1. The ECM profile shows two large peaks at
88 m and 123 m.
2. The preliminary age-depth profile shows ages
corresponding to about 1881 and 1805 A.D.
3. The volcanic record of events most likely to have
recorded ECM peaks indicate the sources
of the two large peaks are Krakatau (1883 A.D.)
and Tambora (1815 A.D.).
4. A refined age-depth profile was constructed
combining isotopic age dates and the Krakatau
and Tambora volcanic events. The 14C date and
7 volcanic events prior to Tambora were not
used in the refined age-depth profile. |
