To view and/or modify the model initial temperature, select "Initial Temperature" from the "Active Data" selector.
Initial temperatures are specified by drawing contours of different values on the the screen. For the example problem, initial temperature is assumed to vary from 8 oC at the bottom boundary to 20 oC at land surface. To accomplish this, two open contours were drawn - at the bottom of the domain and at land surface. The interpolation scheme was set to the default "Continuous" method. The color scale used for contour display can be customized by selecting "Color scale" from the "Edit" menu.
